TOURING MEDITERRANEO
Touring Mediterraneo has been an ongoing success since its launch in 1969. Operating from the heart of the Sliema business and shopping centre, our offices are located on Tower Road (corner with Cathedral Street). Business started mainly as incoming handling agents representing the largest and most important tour operators of Italy and Holland. Meanwhile, the local outgoing business continued to grow and Touring Mediterraneo were appointed IATA agents in a record 5 month period from filing of application. Touring Mediterraneo operated the first charter for Air Malta to Milan in 1975, bringing over tourists to holiday in Malta’s top beach hotels and on Comino.
Another benchmark were our Easter tours, which we started operating since 1974 with a charter to Basle, Switzerland for the then all-inclusive incredible luxury holiday price of Lm 55! We have been operating top-notch tours successfully ever since, both in leisure resorts and cities for more than 30 years. In 1985, Touring Mediterraneo again made a hit by chartering a 130-pax vessel for a Rhine Cruise which followed an itinerary planned and prepared entirely by Managing Director, Alexander Eminyan, who was in turn complemented whole-heartedly by the river cruise company. Student tours are also catered for using good quality tourist class hotels.
Touring Mediterraneo became known for handling quality holidays. In fact Mr. Eminyan was awarded the International Prize for Tourism “Timone d’Oro” in Punta Ala, Italy, for outstanding services in his trade in offering the finest hospitality and the most complete assistance to his clientele.
When it comes to inclusive resorts, Touring Mediterraneo were also the first travel agents to send clients from Malta
and to represent some of the main “villaggi turistici” in Sicily like Kamarina (today a Club Med resort), Citta del Mare and Sciaccamare. Today we still have many clients who spend pleasant holidays in Sicily, especially in the enchanting town of Agrigento, using the Hotel Club Kaos as their base. Alternatively clients choose to hire a car and spend their vacation going from one idyllic Sicilian town to the next. Another favourite destination is the Tuscan region where motorists drive about the gorgeous countryside and cities like Florence, Siena and San Gimignano, stopping to enjoy breathtaking vistas and to sample gastronomic delights along the way.
Touring Mediterraneo has a great deal to offer at any of the seven VIVA Resorts in the Dominican Republic, the Bahamas and Mexico. Each of these destinations provides year-round vacation weather, sandy beaches, beachfront locations, and tons of activities, sports and excursions. Whatever your definition of vacation merriment, VIVA Resorts have it all.. and a whole lot more!
The name Touring Mediterraneo has today become synonymous with cruising. As International Sales Representatives for Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises for over 15 years, we have established ourselves as one of the leading tour operators when it comes to cruising and other luxury vacations. Since the launch of the Weddings Fair in Malta,
Touring Mediterraneo makes an annual appearance and assists hundreds of honeymooners with their plans for the vacation of their dreams, taking in all tastes and budgets. Many of these honeymooners actually return to celebrate anniversaries on our cruises too!
Touring Mediterraneo places great emphasis on its personnel and the high quality of service offered. In the Sales Office, manager Ian will take care of all your flight and hotel arrangements. And if it’s a cruise or luxury holiday you’re after, Alexander and Sylvia are the people who will get you wherever you want to be! Meanwhile Mr. Eminyan’s P.A., Becky, works behind the scenes, together with Andrea, seeing to the daily running of the office. The Touring Mediterraneo team is always ready to plan a tailor-made holiday just for you. So leave all your travel arrangements in good hands (including your flights on the world’s best airlines and specially selected hotels)… all you’ll have to do is pack and get going!
