LAGO DI GARDA - VOGLIA D’ITALIA!

Fly to Milan, and then enjoy a train ride through some marvelous countryside to Italy’s Lake District and the lakeside luxury of Lago di Garda, where there is so much to see and do. Marvel in the beautiful surroundings of the location, and indulge in shopping at the mercati in the quaint towns along the lake.  We highly recommend the Hotel Saraceno in Peschiera del Garda as a base throughout your stay in this region.  Just 200 metres from the shore, the hotel enjoys a great location and its facilities include a bar, restaurant, taverna with piano and karaoke, swimming pool with whirlpool area, sun terrace, large garden with children’s play area, and a shady park where guests can relax.  All rooms are beautifully decorated and enjoy private bathroom, hairdryer, direct dial telephone, satellite TV, air conditioning, heating, and safe.  The cuisine is excellent and menus offer a wide choice of dishes, while a buffet breakfast will give you a great start to your day.  Whatever your requirements, Elena and Luciano are sure to look after you.

What is so great about this area is the possibility of visiting so many nearby towns. Visit Sirmione, which was once a fishing village, and is now famous for its spas and its Catulle Caves.  Take a romantic lake steamer to Riva del Garda, surrounded by imposing mountains. This town boasts an immense historical heritage from the Middle Ages, including city walls, towers, and moats.  A day excursion to Verona is a MUST.  Nowhere inspires more romance than Juliet’s house.  The famous balcony, immortalized in Shakespeare’s play, can be seen in the lovely inner courtyard.  Also worth visiting is the famous Arena di Verona, where many important concerts and festivals are held. You could also opt to spend a day in Mantova, a beautiful city full of historic monuments and artistic treasures.  Walk through Piazza Sordello and Piazza delle Erbe in the city center.  For a fun day out, visit Gardaland, Italy’s number one amusement park.  The Caneva splash park and Safari Zoo are also worth a visit.

A definite highlight would be a day trip to Venice, the most romantic city in the world!  Recline in a gondola, and glide gently along enchanted Venetian canals.  Stroll through Piazza San Marco and visit the Doge’s Palace and for an extravagant gourmet experience, mingle with the jet set at Cipriani-Harry’s Bar. You  should also visit Murano, so famous for its amazing glass-blowing  and some of the most beautiful glass products you’ll ever see.
